Coach Chris

Chris Coker swam for the CCSL Dickinson
Swim Team since he was six years. In 2005 and 2006 he coached the team to a
very successful season - 47% of the team qualified for the Reserve/Champ
series. Chris has been teaching young children to swim since he was thirteen
years old – and has many success stories to share.
In high school, Chris competed on the varsity swim team for four years,
qualifying for the regional finals each year, and competing at the state
level his senior year. He was Captain of the team both his Junior and Senior
years. Chris also participated in Air Force ROTC for all four years of high
school, winning numerous leadership awards along the way. He won the North
Galveston County Student Volunteer of the Year award in 2006 and was the
recipient of five scholarships to help fund his college education. Chris currently attends College of the Mainland as he works towards
completing his degree. Chris is also an assistant coach for Synergy Swim
Club and works as a Lifeguard Supervisor at Schlitterbahn Galveston,
supervising approximately 30-40 lifeguards each shift. If that weren’t
enough for this busy young man, he helps care for CPS foster children who
live with his family in his “spare” time. Chris makes an extra effort to
ensure that each child who lives with him improves his water safety skills
and learns to love the water as he has. This is Coach Chris' second
year coaching for the Pearland Swim Team. Back to Top

Coach Lauren

Coach Lauren Partridge is a native Pearlander. She began swimming in her grandparent’s backyard pool before she could walk. In her early years, Lauren swam for the Pearland YMCA and for the Clear Lake City Stars. While attending Pearland High School, Lauren joined the swim team and served as Team Captain her junior and senior years. She also loves water polo, which she began playing in high school and continued in college at Baylor University. There, she began traveling the world and speaking Spanish, and decided to pursue a degree in International Studies and Spanish. Currently, Lauren is teaching Spanish II at Glenda Dawson High School (named for her awesome grandma), and is coaching the Dawson swimming and water polo team. This is her first summer to coach the Pearland Pirates, and she is muy emocionada!! She considers herself blessed to have the opportunity to work with young people in the community she calls home. Lauren loves adventure, reading, dancing two-step and salsa, having lunch at The Pear Tree, and sunsets. ˇˇPura vida!! This is Coach Lauren's first year coaching for the Pearland Swim Team.
