Pearland Swim Team
Junior Coach Program
A Junior Coach on the Pearland Swim Team (PST) is defined as a current high school who is actively helping the coaching staff during the summer league. The Junior Coach will not be compensated monetarily, but will receive a scholarship if all requirements are met. This is to ensure that we meet all UIL requirements.
Requirements:
Must be going into the 10th grade or higher. You can be a junior coach at the end of your senior year.
Must be present at 85% of the practices.
Must be present at 3 of the 5 meets per season.
Must be a hard worker and take direction from the coaching staff.
Must be a Junior Coach three out of four years of high school. Exceptions will need prior approval from the Board.
Must pay the registration fee for that season. If the Junior Coach meets the first three requirements, the family will be reimbursed the registration fee.
The Head Coach will determine if a Junior Coach meets all requirements for that season for a registration reimbursement, and for the years for a scholarship.
The Junior Coach staff will be selected by the Head Coach for each season based on prior experience or recommendations. |
Scholarship:
A Junior Coach will receive a $200/year scholarship, not to exceed $800.
The scholarship will be issued during the End of Season Party (or at the discretion of the Board) after the Junior Coach’s senior year. |
