Congratulations on a fantastic season so far.  It is time to start planning for the Champ Series.  Deadline for signing up is THIS FRIDAY, NOON.

The Champ Series is when all twenty teams compete in a series of meets that lead to the Champ Meet, for those swimmers who have made the highest cut times in our league.  Whether or not you are able to participate in the Champ Series this year, if you child qualified, they are already a winner.  For detailed information regarding the Champ Series, please see the e-mail that I sent out last week “PST Champ Series – What’s It All Mean.” 

The Novice and Reserve Meets will be held on Saturday, July 10^th at the Texas City Natatorium.  The Champ Meet will be on July 11^th at the Texas City Natatorium. Each swimmer is allowed 3 individual entries for the Series.  If your swimmer has multiple champ and reserve times, they can only swim 3 of those events at the Series, in other words, if your swimmer has 2 reserve times and 2 champ times, if they choose to swim the 2 reserve time events on June 21st, they can only swim one of the champ time events on the 27th.  If your child swims an event in the series and makes a qualifying time for the next meet, they will be automatically entered into that event in the next meet.  If you can not participate in the Champ Meet after qualifying in the Reserve, let Miron know immediately, so that we do not get charged for the re-entry.

Check the team website for our “Top Times” this season.  If your child has an “a” after their time, they have qualified for the champ meet.  If your child has a “b” by their time or if they are 13 or older and do not have a champ time, they qualify for the reserve meet.  For swimmers 12 and under, there is a Novice Meet that gives a taste of what USA swimming is all about. If your swimmer has earned multiple Champ/Reserve times, please let us know what your preferences are. The Coach will have final say on the entries, but will take your wishes into consideration.

Please submit your entry no later than this Friday at NOON.  To sign up, please go to the PST home page and follow the directions.  You can also print out the attached form, fill it out and return it to the Spirit Shop on Saturday (this is for last minute entrants that make their time on Saturday; everyone else should already be signed up).  Address all Champ Series sign up questions to Miron Salvador at deanandmiron@sbcglobal.net or 713-436-8961.  The entries are due to the league right after our meet with Harbor Tide, which is the reason for the severe deadlines.

 To reiterate, deadlines are as follows:

• All current champ and reserve times – Friday, July 2^nd at NOON; sign up online.
• Those who make champ/reserve times on Saturday – Saturday, July 3^rd at the meet; paper forms will be available (and attached here).
• Those who make champ/reserve times at Last Chance Meet – Tuesday, July 6^th, as soon as the meet concludes, via e-mail to Miron Salvador at deanandmiron@sbcglobal.net.
